Dear Friends
Based on the petiton we gave on 22nd Feb 2008
commissioner of Police Mr.Nanjil Kumaran, IPS, invited the office bearers and
representatives of our association for a meet On 8th March 2008 by 11.00 AM.
Addl.COP Mr. Jangid, IPS handled the meet at his
chamber.
The meet with Addl.COP was a successful one.
He started reviewing each and every conditions one by
one and we explained currently how it was followed and what are the practical
difficulties we are facing.
Some of the points discussed are
(i) Internet Centers should maintain a manual
register to collect the details of the visitor( name, address, photo id
details, time in, time out , system number and signature) and should be
preserved for one year.
(i) Traffic police clearance was not necessary for
existing Internet Centers. Those who are not applied for license renewal should
apply for the same on or before 20th April 2008. From 1st May 2008 onwards
Local Inspector will inspect and certify whether we are following the terms or
not.
(ii) All Internet centers should fix CCTV and record
the visitors at 1Frame per 45 Second, which will take only few MBs of space
per day (For eg:- If we record at 1 frame per second for 14 hrs, it will eat
400 megs of space). The same should be stored for 30 days.
(iii) Children should accompany by parents.
(iv) Internet centers should paste stickers or notice
displaying Visiting objectionable sites in public place is a legal offense.
(v) The 7th condition of existing terms
1.Saving the
urls visited by browsers was put on hold and will be finalized after
discussing with ISPs.
(vi) Fire extinguisher is must for internet centers.
(In market we can get this from Rs.150/- onwards )
(vii) We requested to change the renewal duration to
3 years.
(viii) We also requested in case of a crime incident
in a internet center, since we are just a service providers the business
should not be disturbed.
NOTE : Addl. COP
advised us that regarding points
(vii) & (viii), he will discuss with COP and decide.
